The "Spar Rekord" was also available here in Finland and was called Rekord Champion. I took the instrument panel, door and rear side panels and the rear seat from one to use in my Commodore. The door and rear side panels were used in the factory 2D limo "race version" Commodores too.

Welding brackets on an axle is not a problem for a competent welder as long as the heat is under control so that the axle tubes won't warp.

But unfortunately the truth very often is that what the engine needs is a re bore and new oversize pistons.

Nothing, it is a normal 20S head with four cam bearings and a groove in the first bearing.

I had planned to use a 390CFM Holley 4bbl on a 30H intake for my Commodore but I finally chose to use a pair of Weber 38ADL's instead. A Holley doesn't fit plug & play since the bolt patterns are different, but fitting is possible with a modified spreadbore to squarebore adapter. https://goo.gl/imag...

I think he is talking about the leaning tower of power, or said in other words, swapping the 170CID slant six in his Plymouth to a 225CID. :mrgreen:

It is possible to bore an 88mm 17 block to the 93mm 19 dimension, but it is not a very good idea as the cylinder walls get real thin and lose their roundness when they heat up. I had a -68 17S Olympia A coupe a long time ago that some previous owner had bored to 93mm and I remember that the oil cons...

There are also the usual oversizes 88,5mm and 89mm, or you could use std 88,8mm pistons from a C26NE, but you need the connecting rods too as the compression height is different.

It should be possible to bore it to 88mm and use std 17S pistons.
