I think the C26NE is a great engine , especially when the engines still are cheap to buy. Allthough I´m considering building a C30NE block topped with a massaged 25SB head and a 4bbl Holley 390CFM carb for my own project. A lerge part of the fun is doing something different.
Pump problem... Or lets just Call it fuel problem !!!
Engine start today but no fuel supply . First of all is there some sort of valve i the tank - if you pull the hose of the main connection point of the tank, shouldnt all the gas then just run right out ?
My pump is running but it dosnt get any gas from the almost full tank - sorry but i dont get it
Anyway my fuel pump is a Bosch 0 580 464 008. Any one who can tell if that will work for the C26 engine ?
...............the rest of it is just coffee house bullshit
"........ it sucks to hard!" .... sorry
...............the rest of it is just coffee house bullshit
Gave it a blow with the compressor to release any dort build up in the filter, and that sure gave results - gasolin all over the place !!!
Anyway the pump now gets fuel, and there is fuel in the return line, so that should now be ok.
The engine didnt start do - good oil pressure(2 bar), nice spark on the plugs, it should get fuel now, and i am pretty sure that everything is connected correct - but something must be missing(it didnt even give the small sound or proff of a start)...
It looks like that you installed your Ignitiondistributer 180 degrees wrong side.
Take him off turn him 180 degrees again and than install him . You will see that you engine will run.
If not than check the fuel injectors . take a powersuply where you can regurlate the current.
Bring the current cable plus and cable minus (max only up to 3,5-4 Volt) and hear if the injector make a quiet Klick.
If the engine is not running come back to me.
Michi
pressure of gasoline you checked already ... should be around 2-2,5 bar isn`t it?
The gasoline line (in) should go from tank to filter to the pressure regurlator to the first injector.
take off the gasoline line from the input of the first injector turn the ingnition key pump should run and gasoline should come out the line.
These are some points you can check if did not checked already.
Ohhh this engine is doing a GOOD job in that car - such a nice sound and excellent torque and power !
Regarding the fuel hoses, i dont know how it is originally, but i have a bunch running up and down in the trunk...
Left is how it is now(designed for a carburator with no return from the injection), and right is how i would like to do it(with a return line, directly to the tank) !
The Overflow in your picture is actually for venting it. The gases are directed to the back of the car. Safty, Smell & Venting.
Dont know which feature you took away.
