Tail lights / rear lamps seals

I bought new seals to the rear light lenses. But I don't remember removing seals between the body and the tail light assembly. Do they screw directly to the body without any rubber / seal?

There are seals between body and the assembly, thats true. In fact they are important. It took me quite a while to find out that my old seals have been leeking and the water came in there. I was alway assuming it was from the lid.

But I can´t find the part number for them. The service manual doesn´t show them either..... Are they the same as the ones sold for the taillight itself?

There is only one seal, it seals the taillight to the body and the lens to the taillight.

So... that means Each tail light needs a pair of these?

No, the seal encloses the housing, which is mounted on the body, it seals the housing to the body and the glass to the housing. Only one seal is needed for each side.

Maybe you received the wrong seal.

The correct seal has a slot on the inside.

yep, misunderstanding. One seal between body and the casing. None between casing and cover.

When installing for the first time, it makes sense to first put the seal around the base plate. Then screw on the taillight lens and finally screw the entire taillight into the body. Then the seal will fit correctly.

Each screw got a seal too. Between taillight and assembly. The same to the Front
car turn signals.
