Oil and Coolant specifications

What oil and coolant are you using nowadays?. Original specs are a little bit confusing because modern specs are different.

Hi,

regarding the OIL - ask 10 people and you get 10 different opinions...

In my CIH Engines i use 10W40 partially synthetic.

I prefer partially sythetic over mineral oil because i made the experiance that if the oil ist hot the specified viscosity is especially at cheap oils is more at the specs as on mineral oils.

If the Engine is clean inside (no sludge) it is the way i go - otherwise i recomend a mild engine flush and a short driving period with cheap oil and new filter to clean the engine from residue bevor the final oil change (with new filter)

This engines are bulild till the 90´s (Senator/Omega 6 Cyl till 1993 and Frontera 4 Cyl till 1996 or 1998). So there are no problems if you use oil recommendations for this vehicles.

Dont go crazy with expensive oils on this engines - regular oil and filter changes with reasonably priced oil (not cheap oil) is all this engines need.

As i say above - just my practice and opinion.

Nothing Special, G11 for Example.

Color of silicate containing coolants is normally blue-green.

That´s what I thought because of the type of metals in the radiator
